Howdy! I’m Ashley, and I founded Mindful Mortem after years of creating entomology-inspired art. What began in 2018 as a creative outlet during my service in the United States Marine Corps grew into a deeper reflection on transformation and mortality. My time working in the funeral service profession further revealed how vital, and challenging, it is to engage in honest conversations about death, grief, and change.

Through Mindful Mortem, I create and curate pieces that not only celebrate the extraordinary world of insects but also honor the many transitions we experience in life. Alongside my artwork, I offer thoughtfully chosen gifts meant to support reflection, remembrance, and the delicate beauty of metamorphosis—both in nature and within ourselves.

My hope is to inspire meaningful dialogue around life, loss, and renewal, one piece at a time.
